What can I do about moles in my yard?

These hard-working critters can wreak havoc on your lawn! They constantly search for underground insects, so you might think that getting rid of this food source might be the easiest way, but this may actually increase their activity as they burrow even more looking for food. Plus long-term removal of soil insects is impracticale.

Also these methods are not recommended:

• Fumigating with car exhaust, cannisters, etc. – waste of time.
• Poison baits – moles are insect eaters, most baits are grain-based.

Best way to get rid of moles is trapping, most commonly the “harpoon” type. Follow directions carefully. Move the trap often if not affective. Keep a bucket over it for safety.
